Official name: Sultanate of Oman.

Capital: Muscat.

Area — 309,500 km².

Population — 7.199 million (as of 2024).

The official language is Arabic, but English and languages ​​of ethnic minorities are also widely spoken.

The currency is the Omani Rial. Approximate exchange rate: 1 OMR = 2.6 USD, 1 OMR = 4.2 EUR (rate may vary). It is recommended to change money at the airport upon arrival.

The Sultanate of Oman is located on the southeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. It borders the United Arab Emirates to the north, Saudi Arabia to the northwest, and Yemen to the west. The Madha enclaves and the Musandam Peninsula are separated from the mainland of Oman and border the United Arab Emirates and Iran (along the Strait of Hormuz), respectively.

The climate in Oman is tropical and hot. The average temperature in June in the capital, Muscat, is +32°C, in January it is on average not less than +20°C. The annual rainfall in the mountainous regions is no more than 500 mm, and in other regions it is from 60 to 130 mm per year, and there it usually rains only a few days a year.

In the north, Oman is washed by the Gulf of Oman, in the east and south by the Arabian Sea.

The climate is drier from October to March, and wetter from April to September.
