Before Bali intervened in the 18th century, Lombok belonged to the Sasaks, who came here from Asia. In the 19th century, the Dutch took control of the island. After World War II, they wanted to take the territory back, but Indonesia did not want to be under foreign rule again. In 1949, it became independent, and the Dutch had to leave the country.

Lombok is not such a famous island as Bali. However, this is its charm, because here you can relax in solitude . The infrastructure for tourists is developed mainly in the southwest of the island. The best hotels in Lombok receive good reviews from guests.
